They’re Plans, Not Dreams

Hubs and I have always been dreamers!  We have all kinds of ideas about the things we’re gonna do “someday!”  Remember how we’ve talked about getting that travel van?  Gonna explore this country and drink wine while boondocking at amazing sites.

Well, we’ve decided to stop dreaming, and just start DOING!  Maybe not all at once, maybe just in baby steps, but every chance we get – crossing items off OUR LIST.  The van is still in the plans – we’ll plan to find the perfect model and price.

In the meantime, I started up our Encore Voyage Instagram account, to share the photos of our wanderings…

So pop on over and follow me, okay? Because we’re gonna take you with us on our adventures!

Followed you! I am Scr4pl80 there too 🙂 It is interesting to see the different things people have on their lists. I like “eat in all the not yucky restaurants in Boise” That’s pretty funny.

Blogging and Instagram are great ways to get you taking more photos! Just followed you on IG! We have our new travel trailer, now just need the truck to pull it. Now we settle for using our trailer at our windsurf campground all summer for weekend stays! Good reminder to plan!!!

Hi, OK I followed you on Instagram (I think!)… I actually have an account, but I don’t really understand it and hardly ever use it. LOL. Maybe I’ll be pushed into it with you posting there!

I also loved the “not yucky restaurants”. I did a try 5 new restaurants in my spring bucket list and hubby insisted that the hot dog at Costco counted. We had always talked about getting one (it’s all beef and $1.50 with a drink!) and finally did. But I actually ended up with 5 others, so hit my goal without Costco counting.

Lots of travel destinations on your list! One retiree I know plans 4 trips a year – one summer/spring biggie, one winter/fall biggie, one fly long-weekend, and one drivable long- weekend. I’m not sure I could get hubby to travel that much, but we did a wonderful long weekend in New Orleans a couple of years ago… so I’m thinking another long weekend to plan somewhere. Yes, turning dreams into plans is the thing.

I’m new to instagram, too, Pat! I had so many fun pictures of our wanderings. Even Instagram was a “one-day” thing, until hubs said, “You don’t need to wait until we get the van – start it NOW!” It’s that dreams/plans thing!

I was a little turned off by their terms and conditions. I’ll have to check and see if those have been updated. If not, I guess I can join to see the photos my friends are sharing.

I’ve followed your Instagram and also my husband and I love to travel. We all have dreams but it is a matter of just putting them into action isn’t it? Love your list!

Great items on your bucket list! We’ve slowly been checking things off our list for several years. We realized that we needed to do things while we were still mentally and physically able to enjoy them. Have fun checking off the rest of your list!

The way our list works is that if either of us begins a sentence with, “I wanna…”, it goes on the list. We will spend the rest of our lives trying to cross things off! (And that’s only the first screenshot!)

On visiting all 5 states: don’t worry about it. Just visit the ones that are fun. Some states are duds and not worth it.
If you are in Florida, check the launch schedules at Cape Kennedy for launches. Watching one of those monsters fly is incredible.

I like this a lot. I am making plans to hike the Pacific Crest Trail in 6 years. I figure if I know what year I’m doing it in, it becomes a plan instead of a dream.

This is such a jolly good blog Lynn. Love it! I am big on turning dreams into a reality too. Recently quit my job and started working on my little farm to make my long time dream of growing my own veggies and having beautiful, lazy, cozy picnics and bbq’s there. Dream on…Following your blog now.Keep the fun going!
