I hope as the weekend approaches you take a moment to consider those Christmas traditions you hold dear. Are you doing things simply because you’ve “always done it that way?” Are you exhausting yourself chasing some self-imposed standard that no longer meets your needs? Instead, I would invite you to consider which activities, decorations, and traditions truly hold a special meaning for you. Pursue those! Have a peaceful and heartfelt weekend!

Hi, Lynn – I LOVE how wine often has a way of working its way into your reflections. Very admirable! Wishing you a great weekend!

You know…I think you may be right! I hope people don’t start thinking I’m some sort of lush! Have a great weekend yourself!

This is something we have worked on through the years, Lynn. We try to keep things simple during the Christmas season and are very selective about our activities. This way we have a moment to breathe and enjoy each day. That being said, we have our grandsons this weekend and the younger one is celebrating his birthday! So there will be quite a bit of hubbub for us as we play and spoil them them treats and new toys!

All of my friends who have grandkids enjoy watching their fun at this time of year – It keeps you young!

That it does! We just had our two grandsons for a visit and it was a blast but now we are exhausted. 😴

Keeping it simple reflects in your beautiful photo! Most years we are not even home for Christmas, as we travel to San Diego where most of our family lives. So we decorate minimally (no tree) and keep everything simple here. I let my family mess with the decorations. 🙂
